Records for Frederick Charles Webb (1892-1918) -- War Record; Death Certificate (1918)

Fred C. Webb is my second cousin twice removed.  Related through 3 x great grandfather Jeremiah Webb.

The following details were transcribed from the war memorial in the churchyard at All Saints Church, Houghton Conquest, Bedfordshire, during a visit in 1996 by MFW and before I knew that he was related to me:-

"WEBB Fred C.  Sergeant 203202, 4th Lincolnshire Regiment.  Killed in action Monday 15th  April 1918 in France & Flanders.  Born Houghton Conquest, enlisted Ampthill.  Commemorated on PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL, Comines-Warneton, Hainut, Belgium, Panel 3."

The following is transcribed from the website of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission:-

"In Memory of Serjeant FRED WEBB 203202, 4th Bn., Lincolnshire Regiment who died on 15 April 1918.  Remembered with honour PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL.  Commemorated in perpetuity by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission".
