Our Services
We are pleased to provide the most comprehensive of services which currently include, pre-driver training motor awareness and road safety off-road driving for the under seventeens in schools, driving courses tailored to suit your individual needs for drivers of all ages, abilities and experience to DSA test standard and beyond.
This includes mock tests, support materials as required e.g. videos, books, question papers, cd's and one-to-one tuition if necessary, all free.
Our standard recommended practice is one or two hourly driving lessons per week up to and including test but this can easily be varied to suit individuals, and includes concentrated or intensive courses and we are happy to discuss this with you.
If you need picking up from surrounding villages it may be better for you to have 90 minute lessons or you will spend most of your time driving to and from town which is not very productive in the later stages. It depends on the time of day you are able to take your lessons and how far out of town you live.
The Theory Test
All learner drivers must now pass a theory test consisting of :

  • 35 Questions to be answered in
  • 40 Minutes with a minimum of
  • 30 Correct
before being allowed by the DSA to book a practical driving test.
With our connections in Paris, Germany and Sweden we have a wealth of easy to understand material to help you with the theory test. Bas BLACKBOURN B.E.M. is a fully qualified class-room teacher (CG7305) and regularly teaches in schools. Your theory test will not be a problem!
PassPlus, Motorway, etc and Advanced Tuition
We also provide extensive continuation services such as PassPlus which will get you your first year no-claim-discount (NCD) on insurance immediately. This is an ongoing discount and can save you hundreds of pounds for the sake of 6 hours after passing your practical driving test. There is no further test to take - Bas signs a certificate on completion - and it is great experience and fun, too!
PassPlus is operated by the Driving Standards Agency and is aimed at inexperienced drivers in their first year (the course must be taken within 12 months of passing and the sooner the better). Not all driving instructors are qualified to do PassPlus.
These courses are discounted to our pupils by Bas BLACKBOURN B.E.M. ADI (ex-police class-one driver and instructor and former principal instructor for the Institute of Advanced Motorists in Lincolnshire). His sons are both Guinness Book of Records world record holders as the world's youngest advanced drivers.
Motorway driving and Advanced Driving courses are also available, usually in 2 hour sessions.
